So who’s the moron that updated his wordpress theme after spending hours modifying it?…… Me!
Yep back to the old dated theme until I can find some time to change it all over again or until I finally just break down and buy the Standard Theme from 8bit.io
Updated: For now I am going to use the Starter Theme provided by tentblogger.com
You gotta love the Mac App Store, it make purchasing and keeping your software updated a breeze, but what happens when a developer doesn’t keep up his license or decides to remove an app?
I purchased an app on the Mac App store a couple months ago and then went to install it on one of my other systems, but the app was no where to be found by searching so I went to my purchased list, and still found nothing. The app was completely gone.
Luckily, the app only cost me 3 bucks and the developer re-added it under a different name for free, so it wasn’t a huge lost, but if this would have been a 30-300 dollar app and I had no other copy I would have been really upset.
So be sure to backup your apps. That way if this does ever happen you have some where to fall back on other then the Mac App Store.
I don’t know about you, but I am a nut when it comes to major OS releases and I find myself watching the new Mac OS Lion videos all the time. So much so that I’m half tempted to purchase the Mac Developer Program for the $99 dollars so I can get my hands on it now. I don’t know what it is, but there is just something about installing a new OS and the new features that come with it.
I think the features I am looking to most is the new Mail app and Launchpad. I don’t see the Full-Screen Apps being that usable for me with my multi-monitor setup and I’m hoping that Mission Control will work well with it, but I’ve heard otherwise. Unless Apple figures it out before the final release.
The heart-wrenching factor will come with the download time from the installer itself. With everyone trying to download it at the same time I see it taking an easy 5 or more hours just to download it, but maybe that new datacenter can help there too.
UPDATE: Apple did release the GM (Gold Master) version of the OS yesterday, July 1st, 2011. Which is great news, because the Gold Master is usually the copy they send out to start the disc making progress, but since they aren’t making discs for this version, that means they just have to hit a button to make it avaliable on the App Store and we’re all good to go! Rumor is that will either happen on the 6th or 19th. Let all hope it’s the 6th!

This Fathers Day my amazing wife surprised me with the best possible photo of our first child. Him with glasses on and my old Macintosh SE. He’ll be turning 5 months old in a few more days and you better believe their will be more nerdom to come.
Oh and this (picture below) was the first picture taken for the public to see after her was born. Poor kid was only 30mins old and daddy was already putting glasses on him. Which, I must say he’s really grown into the glasses quite well.

Every nerd has their dream setup and of course as new hardware is release the dream evolves. Currently, my dream setup is a 27in iMac with a 256GB SSD and a 2TB internal hard drive and as much ram as it can handle (16GBs). Now take all that and add two 27in Apple Cinema Displays on each side. Put all that together and you are left with a $5,647 (+ tax) dollar masterpiece.

(monitors will be raise somehow to level everything out)
Some of you may be thinking: well since it is you dream system why not go even more powerful with the MacPro and heck add even more monitors. That used to be what I thought too, but I am getting more into a less clutter the better frame of mind and I really love the fact that the new iMacs can handle two displays with the new thunderbolt technology.
That’s my current dream system, whats yours?
Yeah I know I am a little late to the game, but better late then never. Let the good times roll…
