Is it just me or is the keyboard on the iPhone way to loud?

With the 2.0 upgrade Apple finally allowed the clicking sound to be turned down along with the ringer, however I like to have my ringer up all the way, so I can hear it when I am in the car. After a little research I was able to find a solution. But you will need a jailbroken iPhone.

On your jailbroken iPhone, if you haven’t already you will need to install the openSSH and I also recommend installing the BossPrefs too so you can turn SSH off when you are not using it.

The keyboard clicking sound is actually a sound file called Tock.caf. And this file can be modified with most sound editing software. Once connected to the phone the file is located in /System/Library/Audio/UISounds. You can modify it all you want or completely change it with a new file altogether. Either way I know, I and anyone close by are a little happier now when I am typing away on my iPhone.
